A very productive week, slamming the above audio books into my brain!! Helping the business to expand in times of economic pressure and hardship. These audio books provide an in depth understanding of Selling, Closing, and while others retreat under bad times, they help motivate one to achieve and do more.

The past week we have announced new life to the business for 2015 with a rebranding structure that hopefully regains our exposure back in the market place, in these uncertain times.

Using free tools such as Face Book, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn has enabled the business to connect with other business owners and network with a range of industries. This may or may not be relevant for some but it is about becoming known. Currently, we are in obscurity, nobody knows us. These tools will change that.

Keep posted for more information on our business strategies and how we will shine in the New Year! Nose to the floor, and keep grinding peoples.

Sun Wah Pure Chilli Oil

Try this simple recipe!

Perfect for a quick lunch or an easy dinner. Here’s a fantastic recipe for the days when you’re after a meal that’s both fast to cook and high in flavour!

Feeds 4 and ready in less than 30 mins.

Ho-fun with Fishball Stir Fry | ingredients

Ingredients

  • 1 onion
  • 6 frankfurters
  • 6 sticks of celery
  • 2 packs of ho-fun
  • 1 pack of 200g Sun Wah fish balls

Seasoning/sauce

  • Cooking Oil
  • Oyster sauce
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Sesame oil
  • Sun Wah Chilli Oil (optional)

Instructions

  1. Slice the onion, halve the fishballs and chop the celery and frankfurters into small chunks.
  2. Split and separate the ho-fun to make it easier to cook.
  3. Heat your wok on a high heat, add cooking oil then fry the onions for a few minutes.
  4. Add the celery, frankfurters and fish balls.
  5. Season to taste with salt and sugar.
  6. Once the celery becomes soft, stir in the ho-fun with a bit of water to help it cook.
  7. Mix in a few tablespoons of oyster sauce till it becomes brown.
  8. Add sesame oil to taste.
  9. (Optional) If you like it hot and spicy, add some Sun Wah Chilli Oil.
  10. Serve piping hot, and enjoy!

So… having mastered the art of cooking up the freshest and tastiest fishballs, we’ve decided to try our hand, or feet rather, at mastery with footballs. And that is why when the opportunity to join the annual Kam Kee Chinese Summer League arose, we jumped at the chance! It’s a fantastic way of getting family and friends together for good fun, exercise and a healthy bit of competition.

We will be playing every Sunday this summer at Market Road pitches near Kings Cross, London. Results so far have been, shall we say, less than desirable, so if you’re nearby, come and say hello and help support the team!

Host your perfect hotpot

Hotpot (火鍋), or commonly known in Cantonese as ‘da bin lo’ (打邊爐), is a fantastic way of gathering friends and family around the dinner table for fun-fuelled food antics! Essentially, the centre-piece of the dining table is a simmering pot of broth on a hot plate. Whilst this ‘hotpot’ is kept simmering, food is placed into the pot and cooked at the table. No gourmet chefs here… just simple, easy and fun times where everyone can get involved. Perfect for feeding and entertaining the masses!

What do I need?

  • A Hot plate
  • A big metal pot
  • Water
  • Your choice of stock (we like spicy!)
  • Your choice of food (we like everything!)
  • Your choice of condiments (we like spicy!)

What do I do?

  1. Boil some water and add to the pot, along with your stock
  2. Leave to simmer on the hot plate.
  3. Then the fun part… add food into the broth and cook away!
  4. Scoop out and eat, then repeat!

What food can I cook in a hotpot?

Pretty much anything! Broken down into meats/seafood, vegetarian and starches, typical foods include…

Meats/Seafood

  • Thinly sliced meat e.g. beef, pork, chicken etc
  • Prawns and shrimps
  • Frankfurters and crabsticks
  • Wontons and Sui kow dumplings
  • And of course, don’t forget your choice of Sun Wah fish balls

Vegetarian

  • Bak choi and choi sum
  • Spinach and Broccoli
  • Mushrooms e.g. Shitake, straw, enoki etc
  • Tofu, fried tofu or tofu skin

Starches

  • Udon
  • Vermicelli
  • Yellow noodles or ho fun

Condiments

  • Soy sauce, sesame, oyster or hoi sin sauce… or your own mixture
  • Garnish with finely chopped coriander, spring onions or small bean sprouts
  • For a nice aromatic kick, add plenty of Sun Wah chilli oil

Since you can pretty much add anything you want to a hotpot, the beauty is that there isn’t a 100% correct way of doing it. From different sauces, to different ingredients to different stock, as much or as little as you like, everyone’s version is different and this is brilliant! Incredibly simple and highly versatile, and this encourages plenty of experimentation and creativity.
